Analysis of mechanism of Chailing decoction preventing bladder neck contracture after transurethral resection of prostate

Abstract

Over the last few decades, numerous surgical procedures have been proposed to treat lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). However, all are characterized by a certain rate of treatment failure due to bladder neck contracture (BNC). Treatment of secondary BNC appears to be challenging. Triamcinolone acetonide can be used to prevent BNC, but it is not ideal in improving patients' LUTS. Chailing Decoction was found to have glucocorticoid-like effect, which can prevent the occurrence of BNC and improve the LUST of patients. This study reveals the active ingredients and potential molecular mechanism of Chailing Decoction in the treatment of BNC, and provides a reference for subsequent basic research.
